I could not ask for better service than I get at Marley Drug … Dave has helped me keep my maintenance medication prices under control and all of his staff are very good to help in anyway they can … that is why I have been a customer of theirs for so long after moving to this area.

In 2006 I was undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer. One of the side effects of my chemo was dry mouth and mouth ulcers which I learned also went down in my esophagus. My oncologist wrote a prescription for a mouth wash that I could swish and then swallow and it would relieve the dryness and also numb my mouth sores. At that time all of our medication was at a local drug store so I my husband drove me through the drive-thru and we left the prescription to return 2 hours later. Went back later and was told they didn’t have that medication, weren’t familiar with it, and could not locate it. I was flabbergasted. I thought you’re a pharmacy, you have a PDR and access to any number of drug companies but, no, they didn’t have it. End of story.

At that time, Marley Drug was still in the small location while they were building their new shop. My husband and I went there, went inside and I had to take a seat as I was very weak, and Dave came up to us and asked what we needed. We explained and told him the response we had just received. He said come back in the morning and pick up your prescription. That was it. It was there the next morning and we immediately transferred our other prescriptions to Marley Drugs and have never looked back.

Marley Drug is such an asset for Winston Salem and provides the care that the corner drugstore provided years ago. The staff is always so friendly and very helpful. Olga, Tammy, Glenda are just a few of the wonderful people there that will always assist in any way possible and they do it in a professional manner. Thank you Marley Drug!!

I had heard and read a lot of good things so I decided to have 2 of my prescriptions filled here. I am tired of the wait and non-service I get at Walgreens and Marley treated me like a person, the employee treated me with a smile and said welcome, how may I help you. It’s just little stuff like that that makes a huge difference to us ustomers.

My prescriptions were filled quick and the cashier said thank you, please come back and see us. What a great place, they even sent me a letter in the mail thanking me for coming into the store. It’s a no brainier that I will be transferring all my scripts there. I have really been making an effort to spend my money locally and support local businesses so I will be happy to do that with Marley Drug. Thanks you guys for having a great local store and employees, I will be referring you to all my friends.

I have been a satisfied customer of Marley Drug just about since they opened. I liked the home town feeing from the start. My pharmacist knows my name. I have often said, “my pharmacist knows more than my doctor 🙂 . When my dad was alive, John and Dave as well as the ladies on staff ALWAYS asked about his health when I came to pick up our drugs. Jaguar, the schnauzer that often accompanied us loved to come to Marley’s… She knew that attention and dog biscuits awaited her. You can’t beat the hometown feeing you get “where everybody knows your name.” with apologies to CHEERS.

On Dec 10, of last year, I had double bypass surgery and 2 mechanical valves installed… after recovering and getting the ok from my cardiologist, I went back to work in March 2013. All was well until May, and I got laid off, the insurance was gone, and I could not afford the sky high cobra payments, one of medications I take, is a generic for Lipitor, {atorvastatin 40mg} when I recently went to get it refilled, at a local, big name chain drug store {there is one on every corner } I was in shock, It was over a $100. {the generic} for a 30 day supply. The pharmacist it was because it is the latest, etc… I wasn’t listening, I’m trying to figure out what I’m going to do, I called the doctors office, they sent me forms to send to Pfizer {the forms came back in 2 weeks from Pfizer saying “Unfortunately, we are unable to complete your enrollment and/or your medicine request at this time due to the reason{s} below… The medicine marked on the enclosed application is no longer available through Connection To Care…} I think I had about a week worth of medication left. I checked some other Big Name, box Stores and other places, etc., but my medication wasn’t on their list.

I was looking thru one of my older copies of Our State Magazine { May 2013} and on page 171 was a advertisement for “Marley Drug”, in it had my medication for way cheaper amount. That caught my eye, but honestly I was skeptical, I sent them an email, and they replied right back, saying, yes, we have your medication,in the mg’s specified… for this amount… I was floored, to say the least, I’m thinking holy smokes…

So I transferred that prescription, and I’m not sure if Dave called me, or somebody else, or did I speak to 2 different people at 2 different times, they explained to me why the other prices were so high, etc…

So here is the bottom line, the big name drug store wanted over $100.00 for a 30 day supply of 40 mg atorvastatin… Marley Drug, 90 day supply, of 40 mg atorvastatin, $35.00 plus $5.00 to mail it to Cary NC. I just transferred a second prescription to Marley Drug {Warfarin Sodium 4mg} {Coumadin} this morning.

I cannot say enough, how thankful, and helpful you all have been to me.

Sincerely,

Greg Troche
