How Diclegis Works

Diclegis is a combination of two medications; 10mg of pyridoxine and 10 mg of doxylamine.

Pyridoxine is vitamin B6. Low levels of vitamin B6, or pyridoxine, are thought to contribute to morning sickness. Addition of vitamin B6 can help reduce nausea and vomiting in women who are pregnant.


Doxylamine is an antihistamine and sedative. Antihistamines block a substance in the body called histamine, which helps to treat and prevent allergies and can also help to decrease nausea and vomiting.
