What is Enalapril?

Enalapril (pronunciation: uh·na·luh·pril) is a medication that is used to treat high blood pressure and reduce the risk of strokes and heart failure. Enalapril is also known by the brand names Epaned and Vasotec. It is part of a drug class called ACE inhibitors. These medications work by blocking a substance in the body that causes blood vessels to constrict and allow blood to flow more freely. Enalapril is also used with other medications to treat congestive heart failure.
