Why did my refill price jump?

Insurance starts over every January. Until you’ve paid your deductible (the amount you pay before insurance starts helping), you may pay more of the cost yourself. Same medicine, same pharmacy, different price.

Stuck in a coverage gap? Here’s how to get through it.

A coverage gap is any stretch when your insurance isn’t helping with your prescriptions yet. In January, that usually means one of three things: your deductible reset to zero, your new plan hasn’t started, or your new card hasn’t arrived. None of these mean you did something wrong. It’s how insurance works, and it doesn’t last forever. Start with what you’re paying now. Look at the price your pharmacy quoted for your refill and write it down. That’s your starting number. Next, look up your medication on our price list. We post one price for 150+ FDA-approved generics: $37 for a 6-month supply or $70 for a full year, about $6 a month. Compare it to the number you wrote down. If ours works better for you, moving your prescription is simple. Use Transfer Rx or call us at 800-810-7790, and we’ll take care of the transfer. If your medication isn’t on the list, call us anyway and we’ll tell you what we can do. One thing to know before you decide: cash payments usually don’t count toward your deductible. If you take expensive brand-name drugs and expect to meet your deductible soon, your insurance may be the better choice for those. You can use insurance for some prescriptions and Marley Drug for others. When your gap ends, whether your plan starts or your deductible is met, you can compare again. Our price will be the same. We’ve held it for 10 years. Questions? Call us at 800-810-7790, Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm EST, or Saturday 9am to 1pm EST. A real person will help you work out your next step.

We price our medications based on what it costs us to buy them from the wholesaler

You may see an advertisement for $4 medications from other pharmacies. That’s a really good cash price for a generic. However, the price applies to only a handful of generics. The rest of medications may cost a lot more since they are often priced based on what brand counterparts' cost.

Medications on our Wholesale Price List are $37 for a 6-month supply or $70 for a full year. That's around $6 a month for over 150 FDA-approved medications. We've held that price for 10 years, and the list is still growing as we find more affordable sources for common medications.

We deliver affordable medications to all Americans by pricing our medications based on our acquisition cost. This way we can transfer savings directly to our customers.
